One of the first hurdles that you will have to over come as a notary is the entrance exam. It is a fairly difficult test that judges your ability to be able to recall the duties, codes, and other rules of a notary. The notary exam is based on multiple choice questions pulled from the notary handbook, a list of things that are important to the every day duties. After you have completed the exam, you will be given a certificate from the Secretary of State. This will validate and license you as a notary, and you will be ready to start work.
