We run an office that has a combination of both Mac and Pc platforms so it is important to us to have a management program that can speak to both worlds.  When we looked at Merlin Project Management we knew we had found what we were looking for.  We can enter our data on the Mac and can read it on the PC with the MS products.  Not only can we track orders and activities we can also tie all communications dealing with the project together.  All emails, all files,  and everything that has been generated in relation to the project can be called up and accessed.

I’m thinking we can improve efficiency using business mapping methods.
So I’ve been poking around the Internet reading up on Business Process Mapping Tools to get a better idea about it.
Normally I prefer a more flexible approach, but it’s clear we need more organization here.

I’ve been reading up all over the web on Lean Manufacturing Jobs. The adjustment process would be painful, but I think we can manage it.
I think big improvements in efficiency will be absolutely critical for our ongoing success.

I’ve been told the best way for a company to gets its act together is with six sigma. I wonder if we shouldn’t check out six sigma as a way of streamlining our operation.
Six Sigma Green Belt Training looks like the way to go for us, although it will be a tough sell for upper management.
If my former business partner’s experience is any indication, six sigma could really make a big difference for us in terms of the bottom line.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.
