Researching Document Management Guidelines

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet lately about Document Management Guidelines.
Our content management system has grown unmanageable, so we need a better solution.
So I’ve been reading up on Online Document Management to see what the best system for us would be.
Not the most exciting subject, of course, but I think it will save us a lot of money and time.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.

Benefits Of Microsoft Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

The digital suite anniversary edition offered by Microsoft had a number of benefits to its credit. Though it has been discontinued by the software giant still it is worth talking about the software here. First of all, Microsoft digital image suite anniversary edition provided good value for the money. It had a small learning curve, which made it suitable for the beginners as well as casual users. The suite had a common tasks panel that made the navigation easy and provided guidance for the different tasks. The suite came with a trail version that lasted for 60 days and could easily be downloaded from the internet for free use. Also it could work on Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP, which made it most flexible to use.

Getting A LCD Projection TV

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

We are getting a new TV, probably a Hitachi Ultravision projection tv as I have heard good things about them. Anyone out there in the blogsphere have one? They have become such hot sellers the past few years I would be surprised if quite a few of you did not already have one. We settled on LCD after comparing a few of the other types. I never was very fond of plasma, and I like the idea of using our TV with my laptop as well, so an LCD make perfect since since most computer monitors are also LCD based devices.

One of the common problems with disc automated dvd duplicator systems is that they tend to cause data corruption especially after prolonged usage or when burning at higher speeds. Considering that data integrity is the foremost concern when you are making duplicate copies of any disc. Pioneer DVD duplicator is a device which everyone should try. The disc duplicators are capable to handling big copy runs. The performance of these devices is snappy. At the same time the drives are known to ensure near zero data corruption in the copies made using these duplicator systems. These duplicators are very reliable.

Little beauty

Zip. it went through - just like that, The new Eftpos worked a treat. Better than cash hey wot she said

Not so sure of that I was.  Cash is simply the best. You can usually get a discount if you pay in cash.

I know that some do class the Eftpos as just as good as cash, but cash does not attract any Bank fees.

I just need to get my customer base organised better  she sighed , Some sort of  business planning software, I thought.

If only I could get that sorted, life would be so much simpler, The cynic in me replied that life is never simple, its always gonna get you.

However, I did suggest that all those customers were, in fact, some form of  digital asset & that since the list of customers was in fact ever expanding, not such a bad thing from a business point of view. All that advertising seem to be paying off and that she really needed to get some sort of  digital asset management system , or even intergrate it into her accounting system. She threw a copy of Quick Books onto the counter.

That your job, she said. Thats what I pay you for isn't it?.

DVD-9 Data DVD Duplication Repllication

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

I have been particularly curious to know if it was possible to transfer the contents of a DVD-9 video disc onto a writable DVD  This, of course concerns data dvd duplication replication and what I first learned is that currently available DVD discs are single-layer products that accommodate a maximum of 4.7 GB of information per side. While on the other hand Prerecorded (pressed) DVD discs can contain up to 8.5 GB of data on one side by using dual layers (known as DVD-9). I was heartened to discover that several techniques can be used to place the larger contents of a DVD-9 DVD-Video format disc onto writable DVDs. These include splitting the material onto two discs or re-authoring it to fit onto one. For illustration, by using various software programs disc content can be broken into pieces or additional material deleted so only the main video segment remains to fit onto a single writable DVD disc. Such software can sometimes recompress the video content to a lower bit rate to fit onto one disc. In this case excluding superfluous material lessens the required amount of recompression to maintain higher video quality. In learning all this, I did not have to be reminded that COPYRIGHT LAW must always be observed.

Hobby Radio Webcasting

Monday, March 17th, 2008

If you have your own hobby, religious affiliation, or business then you could well use webcast radio to get your message out. It is very affordable and if you run a half decent radio show you could soon build a decent  sized listening supporters base. Hobby enthuisiasts would be enthralled to learn more about their hobby and you could soon establish yourself as an expert in the field. Imagine running something like an RC radio club giving out weekly tips for maintenance or better performance talking about various race meetings, etc. This idae can be taken hold of for a wide range of topics, anything you are interested in you could start your own webcast radio show.

Document Management Standards

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Our archive of documents is rapidly approaching a point where it will be unmanageable. It’s time to institute some
document management standards. We need to be able to find information quickly when we need it, and our present system isn’t cutting it.
In particular, I’ve been looking at Document Management Solutions as a way to help us get our act together. Someone has to do something before we all drown in paper.
Of course the hardest step will be selling the document management standards to management. They’re going to have to fork over the money, though - I don’t see a reasonable alternative.
