What are the Improvements in the Cat 6 Cable over the Cat 5 Cable?

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Most cabling technologies are now going the Cat 6 way. In corporate setups the Cat 6 cable is being preferred over Cat 5 and even Cat 5e. This is a gigabyte cable with a processing speed of over 1 Gbps. But the best benefit is that it is designed specially to reduce crosstalk interference. There are four pairs of twisted wires in all cables, but in the Cat 6 cable, these twisted wires have a separator wire between them. This makes the transmission clearer.

The Skinny On Wireless Broadband For Laptops

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

The time has come to get more info on Wireless Broadband for Laptops.
I’m sick of staying indoors all the time. I’d really like to get out more. I think wireless broadband can help.
I’ve been researching Internet Cards For Laptops on the Internet. There are some good choices out there.
It’s not cheap, but I think the added freedom will be worth the expense.
I’ll post more soon.

Learning About Category 6 Wire

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I was talking to a friend yesterday about Category 6 wire.
I’m wiring up my office myself, so I need to learn how to handle the cables.
Having to study up on Cat6 Wire Diagrams isn’t the end of the world, of course, and I need to save the money.
Learning to wire a network is a useful skill in any event.
Alright - that’s all for now.

Researching Getting A Wireless Broadband Laptop

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Working from home is great and all, but man do I get a nasty case of cabin fever sometimes. I’m thinking of investing in a
wireless broadband laptop so I can get out and be around people more often. Maybe get a little sun and look a little less like gollum.
Wireless Laptop Computers must be the best invention ever. For me anyway. Anything that gets me out of the house is great, but one that lets me get my work done and be around people is truly life changing.
Of course knowing my luck mine will get stolen 3 days after I buy it, or I’ll spill coffee on it the day after the warranty runs out. But oh well. It will be worth it all the same.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.

Wireless Broadband Laptop

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

I really need a
wireless broadband laptop. One more day-long stint working in my lightless cell of an apartment might just send me over the edge. It would be much better to get out and work in a cafe or some other internet hotspot.
Seriously, I can’t imagine why it took so long for Wireless Internet For Laptop Computers to become popular. Working from anywhere - what’s not to like? It’s like having a new office every day. So much nicer than the depressing cube I used to be stuck in.
I think I might work in the park tomorrow - bring the dogs along. Ain’t it the life, though?

Wireless Broadband Notebook

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Got what I wanted for my birthday for once - my wife bought me a wireless broadband notebook, so I can get out of the house and work remotely more often. I’m psyched!
I honestly don’t know how I got along before the invention of The Wireless Laptop. Now I can work anywhere. Being able to work from home is great and all, but it gets old fast when there’s no one around to keep you company.
I think my next “office” will be the local brew pub. Working on pub grub, Guinness in hand - sounds good to me.

Retail Options For Financial Management

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Retail restaurant accounting software is what every restaurant owner should implement in order to keep proper track of finance and inventory throughout the restaurant. Applications such as Cash Trrap, BPA Restaurant, Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Inventory would be ideal options for correct financial management. Correlated reservation and ordering software can preserve the accuracy of the operations carried out by waiters, accountants or experts while delivering updated situations of all involved aspects. Perhaps it is an inspired idea to discuss with other restaurant owners before purchasing the software so that you have practical feedback from current or former users.

Is Technology Making Life More Complicated? Could You Install A Wireless Network?

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

You won’t be at all surprised when I state the obvious and say that technology is advancing at an alarming rate. This is great for like-minded tech-heads, but the more advanced it becomes, the more complicated it can seem to the average computer user. Wireless network installation is a prime example of this. Having said that, Advances in hardware and software have made the task of setting it up a great deal easier.

Cat 5e does not stand for cat 5 ethernet.

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

When setting up your computer network, you will need to purchase cable. When shopping for cable, keep in mind that cat 5e cable is not another name for cat5 ethernet cable. The “e” stands for enhanced. Cat 5 cable and cat 5e cable are not the same thing. If you need a cat 5 ethernet cable, you need to buy cat 5 cable. Cat 5 and cat 5e cables are not the same, and they are not interchangable. Be sure to buy the proper cable, so your network will operate properly.
