Changes In The Microsoft Certificate Programs

Monday, July 21st, 2008

I once heard that the only thing in life that is a consatnt is change. Like it or not we all have to change with the times. Microsoft is not excluded from this. One of the changes is with their microsoft certificate programs . And in my mind it  is a very positive change. The newer generation seemed to want programs that are more streamlined and geared to be much more job specific. By doing just this the path for certification is shorter, making it more cost effective. And they have been able to do this without cheapening the actual certification. This is very positive.

Using Batch Files

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

If you're familiar with MS-DOS at all, you'll recall that it's a command-driven operating system that performs functions issued at the C:> prompt. The only way to get an MS-DOS computer to do something was to type a command at this prompt and if you can imagine, it was a rather cumbersome way to use a computer. As an example, to load up Microsoft's simple editing program, you had to type the name of the drive that the program was on, the directory that the program was in, and then the name of the program. So if Microsoft Edit was in a directory or folder named "Process," you could start the program by typing, "C:>process\edit.com" Then, and only then would the program load up for use.

3D vs 2D CAD System

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

The 3D CAD system is more beneficial and better to use than the 2D CAD system. This is because it has many benefits, such as high quality output, flexibility in the design changes, eliminates redundancy, produces accurate output, and many others. Moreover, using the 3D CAD systems, human error is greatly minimized, thus rework or any changes are rarely needed. Compared to the 2d CAD system, 3D design is more comprehensive, giving a true to life look of the design. Whereas in 2D CAD system, some components are missing, resulting in poor output.

Electron Microscopy Science

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Next semester is going to be exciting, because it will be my first chance to get into Electron Microscopy Science. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these. The ability to look so deeply into the nature of things is truly extraordinary.
I’m fascinated with electron microscope prices in particular. The inventors were truly extraordinary people. Imagine coming up with such a device, and actually making it work.
Looks like I’m going to be burning the midnight oil in the lab this year. Suits me.

Biometric face recognition technology

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

For companies that have precious data or equipment to protect they need to have the most up to date security systems in place. Facial recognition technology is a cutting edge solution that is being used as a security solution. By reading the heat signatures and facial geometry of the individual’s complexion, this software transmits vital biometric data for authentication. The software then matches this data against details stored in a database. This technology is quickly replacing the need for password or pin number codes.

Notebook Hard Drives are Getting Bigger

Monday, January 7th, 2008

It’s good to know, though, that what small notebook computers may have to sacrifice in durability and ease of use, they make up for in keeping pace with other computers’ hard drive capacities, now even small notebook computers come with laptop hard drives of 160GB or more. This made me go in for one and I have been using this without a problem for quite some time now.
