Standout Phones for Use with Voice Over IP

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

It is a great time to be a voice over IP user, with many great phones coming out for use with the popular type of phone service. The best phones for voice over IP include the Dect cordless voip phone, which can be used with the popular VOIP program, Skype. This phone can use your Skype phonebook entries and has very good battery life. The Globarange phone by Panasonic is similarly outstanding, with full functionality for voice over IP through a router or your computer itself. Both phones also work with land lines, in case you are not sure if you want to use voice over IP or not.

Have

you looked at the markets recently?  I watch the new probably 20 minutes a week, I just don’t ever find anything wholesome on there.  Stories of murder, kidnapping, and whatever ugly things are going on in the world just eventually get me down.  There is simply no reason to dwell on that stuff, but the big story this month is the bailout program for AIG, so I knew all about that, but I failed to hear anything concrete about how far the market had fallen.  I’m off the mindset, investing in the market is for 5-10 year timeframe, so I just add to my 401k and forget it.  Well, my bro was over today showing me some quotes….I had no idea the S&P 500 had shed 400 points in the last few months!  We’re talking recession even if the government steps in to bailout AIG.  That’s why I’m switching to ultracheap everything I can, including getting a tracfone to replace my $50 per month contract cell phone.  If we’re going into a recession, it’s time to start pinching pennies for the lean days ahead.

What are the Improvements in the Cat 6 Cable over the Cat 5 Cable?

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Most cabling technologies are now going the Cat 6 way. In corporate setups the Cat 6 cable is being preferred over Cat 5 and even Cat 5e. This is a gigabyte cable with a processing speed of over 1 Gbps. But the best benefit is that it is designed specially to reduce crosstalk interference. There are four pairs of twisted wires in all cables, but in the Cat 6 cable, these twisted wires have a separator wire between them. This makes the transmission clearer.

How To Start A Hosting Company

Monday, September 29th, 2008

The initial investment for starting a web hosting company would consist, costs related to buying software, hardware, promotion of the business, advertising, merchant fees and expenditure on infrastructure. As a good web hosting company you must make sure that your customers are being provided a lot of disc space, which is storage space in their website. A website with lots of images and graphics would require more disk space. You must also use the latest applications and operating system in order to gain the edge over other companies. Another important service that you need to provide your customers is security so that virus problems and errors can be prevented.

Make Sure You Enjoy Your Career In Computer Technology, Not Just The Money

Monday, September 29th, 2008

If you are thinking of returning to school and are looking at computer science degrees as the best option, you should arm yourself with all of the relevant information to make the right decision. Be honest with yourself about whether or not you want to pursue a career in computer technology field. Never make a career move based on money alone. This advice is soon lost on most young people who are attracted to earning big bucks immediately in order to maintain their extravagant lifestyles. However, if you honestly enjoy solving computer problems and reading algorithms, you just might enjoy the computer technology field.

The VBT 135 has more talk time (8 hours) and more standby time (170 hours). The H700 only offers 6 hours of talk time and 130 hours of standby time. Both headsets have similar enough features, including the light indicator to check the status of the battery or connection. One unique feature that the H700 has is a PowerFlip Microphone that will shut off power when the headset is not being used and will automatically turn on when you open it. I guess it all depends on which features are important to the consumer.

Stuck On WoW - How To Get Past It?

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

I’ve been playing WoW for a couple years now off and on. I think I don’t stick with it because it is hard to get past certain areas and I get stuck at some place.

So, I’m trying to find a good world of warcraft strategy guide that won’t break the bank and that can actually get me past certain areas of the game.

I’ve tried both Alliance and Horde characters and still get stuck once in a while no matter which I’m playing although I really do enjoy Horde better.

Here’s to playing even better for much much longer!

Researching Document Management Guidelines

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet lately about Document Management Guidelines.
Our content management system has grown unmanageable, so we need a better solution.
So I’ve been reading up on Online Document Management to see what the best system for us would be.
Not the most exciting subject, of course, but I think it will save us a lot of money and time.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.

Benefits Of Microsoft Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

The digital suite anniversary edition offered by Microsoft had a number of benefits to its credit. Though it has been discontinued by the software giant still it is worth talking about the software here. First of all, Microsoft digital image suite anniversary edition provided good value for the money. It had a small learning curve, which made it suitable for the beginners as well as casual users. The suite had a common tasks panel that made the navigation easy and provided guidance for the different tasks. The suite came with a trail version that lasted for 60 days and could easily be downloaded from the internet for free use. Also it could work on Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP, which made it most flexible to use.
