Child Custody Evaluations are Performed to Find Best Custodian

When you are going through a divorce, you will need to consider your children.  Of course, if there is a battle between parties over custody, a Child Custody Evaluation will have to be performed so that the court knows which party is the best party to have full custody of the kids.  This evaluation will let the lawyers and the court know which party is the better full time parent.  The one with the most potential to be the best parent and handle all the important day to day things for the child is the one who will get full legal or physical custody of the child or both.

The times this type of divorce may be appropriate is when there is not much to resolve financially and there are no children so no child custody agreement is necessary.
