The Responsibilities of a Disability Claims Assessor
Friday, April 3rd, 2009You are a disability claims assessor. You are either somebody’s hero, or somebody’s enemy. There is no in between in this line of work. As a claim assessor focusing on disability claims, your responsibility is to review, underwrite, manage and assess the claim. If you find this claim to be legitimate with all of the prudent information attached, including signed medical documents from physicians who claim that their patient will be disabled long term, and then you have a decision to make. After you have assessed the claim and made a report of your findings, you can make the recommendation to social security to either accept or deny this persons claim and the reasons that support which decision you have made. If you accept the claim, the government still has the option to overrule your decision.
