Worms In Schools
Monday, August 11th, 2008Hands on projects are a great way to help students learn. They are also a wonderful way to keep their attention. Some classes are easier to have projects in than others. Science is especially easy. Worm farms are a great project and teaching tool. It can provide a full year’s worth of activities.
The fact that composting with worms will fit into so many areas is one benefit. It can be an earth science lesson, or environmental studies. It can also fit into physical science, social studies, even math and biology.
A compost bin used in a classroom can both help teach the students in that class, but also will help teach the whole school and their parents.
