Worms In Schools

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Hands on projects are a great way to help students learn. They are also a wonderful way to keep their attention. Some classes are easier to have projects in than others. Science is especially easy. Worm farms are a great project and teaching tool. It can provide a full year’s worth of activities.
The fact that composting with worms will fit into so many areas is one benefit. It can be an earth science lesson, or environmental studies. It can also fit into physical science, social studies, even math and biology.
A compost bin used in a classroom can both help teach the students in that class, but also will help teach the whole school and their parents.

Last year I decided I needed to buy a new lawnmower and on the advice of my friend I decided to look at buying a Snapper lawnmower, because he said he had owned one for over three years and it had really done a good job. I decided to follow his advice I have never regretted doing it because my new lawnmower has done a great job of making my lawn look absolutely wonderful. I am now so pleased with my lawnmower that I’m recommending them to other people.

Cordon your backyard with bamboo fencing

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

I had decorated my huge backyard with lights and beautiful plants and usually like to spend some evening hours in my yard. I also organize get-togethers in my backyard and it was only in the last party that my cousin made me realize that the beauty of my yard was getting hampered by the next door yard which was not maintained and looked like a dump yard. He advised me to install a Bamboo Fencing so that the next door yard is not visible. I liked his advice and have installed bamboo fencing in my backyard which has blocked the vision of the next door yard and this fencing has also added to the attraction of my yard. Even my flower pots and trees also look beautiful with the bamboo fence behind them giving them a beautiful look.

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

When I moved into a new house last year I realized that the slightly larger lawn would need looking after to a much greater degree than the lawn in my old place had ever done. But I did not realize how fast it would grow and how much grass it would produce, and it was because of this reason that I decided to buy a Toro Recycler Mower in order to get the best out of the grass that I cut. I really love using that lawnmower because when I have finished the whole garden seems to benefit from the way the lawn looks.

She explained how these garden worms worked tirelessly to make the soil around us very fertile and why the trees and plants are growing so well without us having to add any fertilizers. The garden worms were the workers who converted all the decayed mater into valuable fertilizers.

To increase the beauty of a water garden one can also put various water garden plants and water animals in it. These water animals will add color. The animals which could be easily used are fished like koi and gold fish, golden fish, golden tench and others. These fish are hardy as well as colorful.

Apart from fish, snails like apple and Melantho snails, frogs, turtle, cats and sometimes snakes can also be put inside the water garden. But predators like cats and snake can be dangerous for fish. So they should be kept out of the premises.
