Dispute Credit in America
The ACB said it would not comment on "any specific initiatives when they are under consideration," but a spokesperson indicated the trade group might have more to say in a few weeks.According to Gerri Detweiler, education advisor for Rockville, Md.-based Debt Counselors of America and former head of the defunct Bankcard Holders of America consumer group, any time a large issuer takes an action, more are bound to follow. With credit-limit data being removed from such a significant number of card accounts, Detweiler says some serious scoring problems could occur within models that rely on that information to evaluate credit risk for those who dispute credit, which in turn affects consumers.
