In some communities, rape is a common occurrence. On top of that, the numbers for unreported date rape may be much higher right across the board. Unfortunately, as birth control facts regulators sail along with their abstinence only programs, many women are left in a horrible situation. Unfortunately, taking contraceptives will not stop or prevent date rape. That said, it may spare a woman the nightmare choice of bringing such a child into the world, or having an abortion.
