Major Issues

There are plenty of complications that could take place from shingles.  In addition to the onset of postherpetic neuralgia, temporary facial paralysis can occur, as well as eye damage, or possibly brain inflammation.  An antiviral regimen begun within three days of the onset can reduce the chances of neuralgia.  You can use drugs known as corticosteroids as a treatment for shingles – but be aware they can create damage to joints and other complications with long-term usage.  If you take medications that serve as NSAIDs, be certain to always take the proper dosage – as health problems such as bleeding and ulcers can arise from overmedicating with NSAIDs.
